Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Gary McCord
Dr. Gary McCord of South Point Family Dentistry is a proud Gaston County native. Dr. McCord treats his patients with care, focusing on comfort and high quality.
He graduated with Honors in Pre-Med from North Carolina State University. Dr. McCord then graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D.D.S.). The Following year, Dr. McCord was chosen to serve an additional year of advanced training in the Dental Residency Program at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, now known as Carolinas Medical Center – Atrium.
Dr. McCord is an active member of the Belmont Rotary Club and enjoys history and aviation.
Dr. Ashley Starr
Dr. Ashley Starr was born in Florida and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since age 10, Dr. Starr said she would be a dentist. She enjoys treating both adults and children and strives to make every appointment a positive experience.
Dr. Starr attended Wake Forest University for her undergraduate studies with majors in both Physics and Chemistry. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating she practiced in Greenville, NC at both an adult office and a pediatric office.
Dr. Starr enjoys spending time with her family, on the lake, and with a good book.
Dr. Matthew Rodda
Dr. Matthew Rodda grew up in Upstate New York. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduation, he pursued further education by completing a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. Through this training, Dr. Rodda gained extensive knowledge in state-of-the-art general dentistry and treating medically complex patients.
Dr. Rodda prides himself on providing personalized, comfortable, and high-quality care. He works hard to ensure his patients are educated and understand all their treatment options, so they may choose the best way to reach their dental health goals. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and provides a broad range of treatment services. Dr. Rodda is routinely engaged in continuing education and stays up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Charlotte Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Spear Education.
Dr. Rodda is excited to be a part of the Charlotte, North Carolina community. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. Some of his favorite activities include exercising, exploring the outdoors, traveling, playing guitar, and listening to live music.
Dr. Andrew “Chase” Price
Dr. Andrew “Chase” Price is a native of Shelby, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies, receiving a degree in Business Administration. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
In Dental School, Dr. Price was selected as an Air Force Health Professions Scholarship recipient and became an Active Duty Air Force dentist after graduation. His first assignment was an AEGD residency at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA. In residency, Dr. Price received advanced training in many areas of dentistry including prosthodontics, implant placement and restorations, endodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and conscious sedation.
After residency, Dr. Price served 4 years at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL and 2 years at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina providing comprehensive dental services to Air Force patients. After completing Active Duty, Dr. Price was excited to transition into private practice but continues to serve our country as a dentist in the Air Force Reserves in a unit at JB Charleston. After several moves with the military, he and his family are excited for the opportunity to move back home to North Carolina.
Dr. Price is blessed with a beautiful family including his wife Joanne, daughter Morgan, son Davis, and Border Collie mix Domino. He enjoys spending the majority of his time with his family, especially at the pool and beaches during the summer. He is also a sports enthusiast with a love for almost all sports but especially football, basketball and golf.
